The spreadsheet post: 212k views, 38 demos
A line-by-line look at the best-performing post of the quarter, and the edit that nearly killed it.

The post we’re taking apart
Why it travelled
The post had a number people could repeat. “Deleted 40% of our settings” is the kind of line a product manager screenshots and sends to their team. Shareable posts usually contain one sentence someone else wants to say out loud.
It also picked a side. Most founders add features when customers leave. Amira removed them, and said so plainly.
The edit that nearly killed it
The first draft had a closing paragraph about simplicity being underrated. We cut it. The post ended on “Nobody has asked for a single setting back,” which says the same thing without saying it.
The 38 demo requests came from people who recognised their own settings page. That’s the part you can’t fake: the post was about their problem, told through hers.
